How to export a list of trailers from Omnitracs XRS

From the Manage Trailers window you can export trailer attributes. You can only export data for the current view—that is, if you apply filters to the data and select the Export icon, the filtered data will be included in the spreadsheet that is generated.

Filtering the Data

Filtering your data determines what will be exported when you select the Export icon on the Manage Trailers window. When you apply a filter to the data so that only specific fields are populated, the data displayed on the screen is the data that will appear in the resulting .CSV file.

You can sort the data by selecting the filters at the top of the window. For Trailers, the filter parameters are OrganizationStatusResource Group, and Trailer Type

Select Organization to filter the data according to the specific organizations within your company. Select the check boxes next to the organizations by which you want to filter the data and select Save.

Select Status to filter the data according to Status—Inactive, Active, or Both. Choose the status by which you want to filter the data and then select Save.

Select Resource Group to filter the data according to the Resource Groups assigned within your company. Select the check box next to the Resource Group by which you want to filter the data and select Save.

Select Trailer Type to filter the data according to Trailer Type. Select the check box next to the Trailer Type by which you want to filter the data and select Save.

Exporting the Data

  1. From the Admin menu, select Trailers. The Manage Trailers window opens.
  2. Filter the data as necessary by selecting the OrganizationStatusResource Group, or Trailer Type filters.
The information populated in each Export report is based on the filter parameters. What you see on the screen after you filter the data is what will appear in the .CSV-formatted file upon export.

  3. From the Manage Trailers dashboard, select the Export button.
  4. Retrieve your file.
    • If you use Internet Explorer, a dialog box appears at the bottom of your browser window asking if you want to open or save your file. Select Open to open the exported file.

    • If you use Mozilla Firefox, a dialog box appears asking if you want to open or save your file. Select Open with or Save file, then select OK to open or save the exported file.

    • If you use Google Chrome, a Save As window opens, prompting you to save the file. When you select Save, a .CSV dialog box appears at the bottom of your browser window. Select it to open your file and save it according to your preferences.
